  1. Pennysays:

I really enjoyed this quirky book by the author of How to be Happy.Rosie stepped out in front of a bus and was knocked into an alternative dimension so to speak But was it an accident or did she do it on purpose Why can t she remember And worse still why can t anyone see that she is perfectly alright Of course you will have to read it to see the comings and goings of Rosie s mind trying to remember the ins and outs of her chaotic life.

  2. Charlinesays:

The story focuses on two sisters Rosie and Daisy Rosie is a free spirit, has dreams of being an actress, lives in a grotty bedsit and has a string of unsuitable men come in and out of her life Daisy on the other hand is sensible, has the job, the car, the house, the man But neither of them are happy And they re not talking to each other after having a falling out Then one day, Rosie is hit by a bus, landing her in a coma and bringing her family rushing to her bedside Did Rosie walk in fron The s [...]

  3. Emma Lsays:

Daisy s sister is in a coma Daisy fell out with her sister Rosie months before this happened Daisy is trying to work out what was going on with her sister and if her accident was just an accident or You will also be able to read the story from Rosie s point of view during the coma and at various flash backs in the style of a Christmas carol where Rosie gets to revisit life changing moments.I really liked this story and despite the hard topic of the main character being in a coma, I fou Daisy s s [...]

Having recently read Eva Woods s novel, How to be Happy, I was really looking forward to reading The Lives We Touch Unfortunately for me it wasn t as good The main device, that the character in a coma could see the people in the room with her, wasn t plausible and this jarred with me every time it was used I could sympathise with the main character, especially towards the end, but didn t like her enough to become completely emotionally invested in her A nice easy read, but not a favourite Having [...]

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here This book is a really interesting read It s written from the perspectives of two sisters Rosie in a coma after she ran out in front of a bus and Daisy, trying to find out what had been going on in Rosie s life prior to the accident Rosie and Daisy had fallen out before the coma I thought the different people coming back to Rosie in ghost form and taking her back through her memories was great The book makes you think [...]

  6. Christine Renniesays:

This was an amazing book to read and go through all sorts of emotions to laugh, to cry, to smile, to think about.Rosie is run over by a bus, was it a deliberate act or was she too busy with her phone The book goes through Rosie s memories, the good, the sad, the painful and then at the people she met along the way through life. The Lives We Touch is a very clever, tender, life affirming book not to sweet and twee, just right Highly recommended.

  7. Lucy Haysays:

Beautiful book with a fantastic message that never once falls into preachiness, icky sentimentality or blaming people for their hardships I related so hard to the characters and story I burst into tears reading this book in the middle of a crowded pub The big burly barman practically RAN AWAY from my table when he collected my glass I think he would rather have been wrestling live rattlesnakes than dealing with me Treat yourself and read this book, STAT.
